Willaston provides an excellent selection of interesting activities to make use of and a range of nearby settings worth visiting, all within a short journey of the Willow Grange housing development. On the immediate doorstep, Willaston has a yearly festival with parades, food, games, and fancy dress, as well as the odd honour of having the World Worm Charming Championships in the village every year since 1980! A little further out, and whether it’s one of the castles at Cholmondeley or Peckforton. a trip round a picturesque halls in Arley or Capesthorne, or a day in either Tatton or Lyme park, there are some beautiful options. To further meet your cultural appetite, how about Crewe’s Heritage Centre or the Lyceum in the same area, with both offering some wonderful events. The nearby town of Nantwich has some beautiful timber-framed houses and shops which make for a lovely day out.
There are many opportunities in the Willaston vicinity, with several golf courses, parks and botanic gardens offering a chance for a countryside walk or cycle. If you’re looking for a more physically-challenging pursuit, you could check out the dry slopes at the North Staffs Ski Club. The development at Willow Grange provides a great sport from which to embrace the rest of the region, with a host of activities to the West and North, and the bright lights of Liverpool around an hour away.
Importantly, there are a range of quality schools nearby, a local hospital (Crewe Leighton), various restaurants, bars, pubs and cafes, in addition to a few other local shops. There’s Nantwich and Crewe for nearby shopping, Stoke-on-Trent and the Freeport Talke designer outlet village not too much further on, as well as the aforementioned Liverpool. Willaston is within fairly close range of the M6, as well as having Crewe railway station not far away, offering a starting point with networks to anywhere in the country. If you’re looking to get further away, the closest airport is Manchester around an hour’s drive north, while Liverpool John Lennon Airport isn’t much further as well.
