Llandrillo College Students Visit Parc Hendre

A group of students from Llandrillo College enjoyed a recent visit to Anwyl’s Parc Hendre development in Abergele to further their knowledge

A group of students from Llandrillo College enjoyed a recent visit to Anwyl’s Parc Hendre development in Abergele to further their knowledge of a working building site and see a busy construction team in action.

The visit was facilitated by Anwyl as one of its employees, Mitch Andrews, attends Llandrillo College every Thursday to study for his Higher National Certificate (HNC) in construction. The group of students who visited Anwyl's Parc Hendre spent over an hour on site, learning about everything from the installation of foundations to the role of the site manager and the importance of health and safety and cleanliness. They talked in detail about Anwyl’s traditional build standards and the importance of good build programming, learning more about what can go wrong and the impact it has on the overall programme. The visit finished with a discussion about topical issues including the current shortage of good trades within the building industry. Mitch said: “It was great to host the group at Parc Hendre and show everyone first-hand the way that we work on site.  This kind of visit is invaluable for us to visualise and put into practice the knowledge that we’ve gained in the classroom.” To see houses for sale at Anwyl's Parc Hendre, click here!
