Things to do

On the edge of the town is the famous estate of Lord Derby, which includes Liverpool’s Visitor Attraction of the Year  Knowsley Safari Park, a 550 acre Safari drive that includes of 700 wild animals including Tigers, Rhinos and Camels as well as the opportunity to drive through the monkey and lions enclosure.

Located south of the town is Stadt Moers Park which covers 220 acres of land between Whiston and Huyton. The Park has many visitor facilities including a cycle way, cross country course, fishing pond and outdoor Green Gym.

Once a town at the centre of the watch and clock making industry, Prescot now houses a permanent exhibition about the history of clock and watch making in the town, and several temporary exhibitions throughout the year.

Just 1 mile from Carr’s Rise is the fantastic Cables Retail Park which as well as offering free parking,  hosts a wide selection of major high street names including Tesco, Next, Boots and M&S Simply Food.

Just 11 miles away  by car or just over 20mins on the train you can reach Liverpool City Centre for an unrivalled shopping experience, including the famous Church Street, the chic Cavern Walks, and of course, the brand new £1bn Liverpool One shopping centre. The Albert dock is also worth a visit for its quirky stores nestled on the historic quayside.
