Gift to Preston area communities, Love from Anwyl

A £5,000 gifted fund is being offered, Love From Anwyl, to be shared among the communities of Barton, Fulwood and Longridge. A £5,000 gifted fund is being offered, Love From Anwyl, to be shared among the communities of Barton, Fulwood and Longridge. Anwyl Homes Lancashire, based at Buckshaw Village, is reaching out to the communities near three of its developments – Lawrence Gardens in Barton, Bluebell Meadows in Fulwood and Stonebridge Fold in Longridge. Applications to the newly established community fund, Love From Anwyl, are now open.
Sales director for Anwyl Homes Lancashire Matthew Gould explained: “Anwyl is a thoughtful homebuilder and we recognise that we have a part to play in shaping the future of the communities we’re building in. As our way of giving back to those neighbourhoods, we’ve decided to gift a new community fund, Love From Anwyl, to the people of Barton, Fulwood and Longridge. “The importance of community has come to the fore in light of the Coronavirus pandemic and we want to know how we can help. It could be funding towards supporting families in need, money to help improve access to a much-loved neighbourhood outside space or giving a splash of paint to a community building.”
Funding will released in phases, with the aim of sharing a total of £5,000 through a series of grants, worth up to £2,000 each. There’s also the chance to apply for practical support, in the shape of volunteer time or the donation of materials and resources.
“We want to share the love as widely as possible by lending our support to as many projects as practical,” Matthew added. “We’re also keen to be involved in the community on a practical level and are open to suggestions of how we could volunteer our time. We have a range of different professional skills and some hidden talents that could be put to good use to help locally. We’re not afraid of getting our hands dirty, so may be able to help with gardening, painting or minor remedial works. We can offer talks to schools and youth groups, virtually or in person.”
The Love From Anwyl Fund is attached to 72-homes being built at Lawrence Gardens in the semi-rural village of Barton; a development of 26 homes at Bluebell Meadows in Fulwood and Stonebridge Fold, an 83-home development close to Longridge town centre. It’s a voluntary scheme, being offered in addition to local investment agreed during the planning process. For more information about how to apply for support Love From Anwyl, see www.anwylhomes.co.uk/love-from-anwyl-preston. The deadline for submissions for the first wave of applications is June 11.
