Things to do in Nantwich

Our new homes for sale in Nantwich are just down the road from the town’s vibrant shopping district, which consists of a weekly market, a farmer’s market and a thriving high street. Its vehicle-free town centre paves the way for families to enjoy their shopping trip without fear of the road, providing full access to shops such as Boots, Joules and a hybrid coffee-and-bookshop on Church Walk. The town centre also has several standalone cafes for you to visit with your friends, including independent businesses like Charlie + Co and Doug’s Deli.

As for Nantwich’s market, it opens three times a week on the corner of Market Street and Churchyardside. You can visit the stalls on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays between 9am and the early afternoon, with small businesses selling pet food, mugs, plants, sweets and vintage books. You can also nip down to the farmer’s market on the last Saturday of each month, where you can buy local free-range eggs, fresh bread, curries, pies and meat.

Nantwich isn’t only a shopping town, however; it’s also popular for its museums and iconic half-timber buildings, with plenty of local history for you to enjoy. Popular exhibits are on display at Nantwich Museum, where you can view the stories of POWs in the Second World War, the photographed evolution of Nantwich High Street, and the local impact of women’s suffrage. You can also head into the countryside south of our new houses for sale in Nantwich to visit the Hack Green Nuclear Bunker, a secret defence site now on display to the public.

Nantwich is a popular base for lovers of the great outdoors, with a marina for narrowboat hobbyists located 8 minutes’ drive away in Swanley. Permit-based fishing is allowed at the Hurleston Reservoir, while golf courses are available at the Need Golf Centre and the Queens Park Golf Club. Transport in Nantwich

Our new build homes in Nantwich are a 30-minute drive away from Stoke-on-Trent and an 11-minute drive away from Crewe, connected by the A530 and the A500. You can reach the M6 motorway in 13 minutes, which you can use to get to the cities of Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool. The border of Wales is also a 30-minute drive to the west, while the city of Wrexham is a little further down the A534.

Don’t have a car? No problem, as our new Nantwich homes have excellent access to public transport, with a bus station located next to the library on Beam Street, which provides several local services travelling to Crewe, Newcastle, Chester and Reaseheath College. You can also switch buses at Crewe Station to get to Congleton and Stoke-on-Trent.

Nantwich has its own train station on Wellington Road, with two platforms and a rack for bicycle storage. It falls along the Crewe to Shrewsbury line, operating direct services into Manchester, Birmingham, Shrewsbury and Crewe, as well as further destinations such as Cardiff, Milford Haven and Fishguard Harbour. If you want to branch out your options, you can take a 12-minute train into Crewe to take advantage of Cheshire’s railway interchange, where 12 platforms are connected to Glasgow, Liverpool, London and more.
