One of the town’s most popular attractions is Smithills Hall, a beautifully preserved manor house with gardens and walking trails to explore. Close by, Moss Bank Park offers open green space, woodland walks and play areas, making it a favourite amongst families.

If you like to get out into nature, West Pennine Moors are also right on your doorstep. With routes leading to the stunning Rivington Pike and beyond, it’s a great place for walking, cycling or simply taking in the views across the surrounding countryside. Jumbles Country Park is another local highlight, with a reservoir and scenic paths perfect for a slower-paced afternoon.
