Sandon Gates, Haydock

Our new build homes in Haydock are located less than 5 minutes by car from both the A580 East Lancashire Road and the M6, making any commuting to bigger towns and cities in the area straightforward. The A580 can take you directly to Manchester or Liverpool, while the M6 is a direct link to Birmingham and Carlisle. 

The nearest train station can be found in Newton-Le-Willows, and is less than a 10-minute drive by car. From there, you can catch half-hourly services to Liverpool Lime Street and hourly trains to Manchester Airport via Manchester Piccadilly. 

The closest bus stop (Penny Lane) is less than a 5-minute walk from Sandon Gates, where you can hop onto the very regular 320 bus between Wigan and St Helens. 

As for international travel, you’ll find Liverpool John Lennon Airport less than 40 minutes away by car to the south and Manchester Airport around half an hour to the east, giving you countless options for quick getaways or long holidays. 

With numerous primary and secondary schools within a 10-mile radius, our new homes in Haydock are an ideal place for families to settle down. 

The nearest primary is St Oswald’s Catholic Primary School in Ashton-in-Makerfield, located a 15-minute walk away from the development. Other nearby options include St Thomas’s C.E. Primary School, R L Hughes Primary School and Haydock English Martyrs’ Primary School. 

For parents seeking  good secondary education for their children, Byrchall High School can be reached in 9 minutes on foot, while St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic High School is a 13-minute walk away.  

The littles ones are also well-catered for in the area, with Over The Rainbow Nursery a 12-minute walk from Sandon Gates and Small Wonders Day Care Nursery a quick 4-minute drive into Haydock’s centre. 

As for higher education, the many universities in Liverpool and Manchester, among others, allow for children to continue their growth in the area without ever having to wander too far from home!

If you fancy a bite to eat near our new builds in Haydock, rest assured that you’ll be spoilt for choice! 

Haydock is home to Epicurean, which specialises in South Indian cuisine, and is widely considered one of the best restaurants in the area.  

Or, if you’re wanting a taste of the Mediterranean, go straight to Ashton-in-Makerfield, where you’ll find two highly rated Italian restaurants next to each other: Primo Restaurant and Il Sapore. Another mediterranean option is Barcelona Tapas Bar, for an authentic tapas experience. 

And for something with a kick to it, The Wargrave Hacienda in Newton-le-Willows is a great spot, offering tasty Mexican cuisine in an old British pub.  

For more causal lunch options or a cake and coffee, there are plenty of independent cafes within walking distance, too.  

For those looking to do a bit of shopping, the widest selection of high-street favourites can be found less than 10 miles away in Warrington at Golden Square Shopping Centre, which is home to the likes of H&M, Primark and Next.  

Finally, your weekly shopping can be done much closer to the development, as Haydock is home to a Tesco Superstore, a large ALDI and an Asda, and a handful of convenience stores.
