Anwyl’s reputation for excellence is in evidence throughout the development, with superb design and workmanship proving an attractive combination. The bespoke wooden features in each home – made in our own specialist joinery workshop – give the properties a real sense of character, while the tree-lined boulevards across the development also add to the appeal.
Lawrence Gardens offers easy access to the A6, the main road that connects Preston (just over 15 minutes’ drive to the south) to Lancaster (around 30 minutes’ drive to the north). The M55, M6 and wider motorway network can be accessed in minutes via the new Broughton bypass, making the location ideal for commuters and leisure travellers alike.
Preston railway station is just six miles from Lawrence Gardens. As a major station on the West Coast Main Line, it offers direct services to Manchester in as little as 37 minutes, Liverpool in around 50 minutes and London in around 2 hours 20 minutes.
The traditional heart of Barton is St Lawrence’s church, a Grade II-listed building that dates back to 1895, providing a connection to the village’s past. Today, Barton offers a range of amenities that attract village residents as well as visitors from the wider area. These include the popular Barton Grange Garden Centre, Honeywell’s farm shop with its range of local produce, and the Walled Garden restaurant with its lunches, afternoon teas and acclaimed dinner menu.
With easy access to open countryside and some of the UK’s most celebrated beauty spots, Barton is also ideal for those who love to stretch their legs or jump in the car and explore. The local villages of Broughton and Bilsborrow are both just a couple of miles away, with a choice of general stores, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The charming Guy’s Thatched Hamlet in Bilsborrow is particularly popular, with its canal-side restaurant and tavern proving to be a family favourite.
Just a little further afield is the historic market village of Garstang, around 15 minutes away by car. Its traditional market dates back to the early 1300s and is still held every Thursday. The village also offers a choice of shops and supermarkets, including a branch of Booths, along with plenty of options for eating and drinking, all in beautiful surroundings.
For an even bigger selection of shops, plus major leisure and entertainment facilities, the city of Preston is the natural choice. With its wide range of shopping centres, museums, parks and sports venues – the city can be reached by car in about 20 minutes, or around 25 minutes by public transport.
Barton’s location in the heart of Lancashire makes it easy to reach some of the UK’s most beautiful countryside. The Ribble Valley and Forest of Bowland – including the famous Trough of Bowland – are situated to the north east of the village, offering walks and other outdoor activities with stunning views.
