As the home of gingerbread, Market Drayton hosts a few tasty food events. Each year, British Food Fortnight brings the Ginger and Spice Festival to town – a celebration of local cuisine complete with giant gingerbread men and fragrant food stalls. The Drayton street market also sells spiced sausages and hand-baked scones.
The food market scene isn’t the only thing Market Drayton is known for: it’s also the perfect home for anyone who wants to live life outdoors. Surrounded by miles of Shropshire countryside, your brand new home is a stone’s throw away from numerous hiking and cycling routes for the family to enjoy. As for more leisurely outdoor adventures, the grounds at the Rose Hill Carp Fishery provide a 7-acre fishing lake with a beautiful, wooded backdrop. You can even play golf locally at the Market Drayton Golf Club, an 18-hole course located 5 minutes’ drive south of the town centre.
